35 days until move

I never quite know what to tell people when they ask why I'm moving across the country. "My lease was up." doest quite seem like a good excuse to move from Florida to Washington but Chuck and I have been wanting to get out of here for a while so really any excuse was good enough.

  I've always wanted to write a blog as well but could never quite find the inspiration in my hum-drum routine in Tampa. I love antiques and old architecture but because of the humidity and bugs here, old houses or ANYTHING wood (even furniture at times) could be at the mercy of termites at any moment, so many old structures are just rotting away. I want to explore forests (-swamps -some bugs +mountains +lakes that don't have alligators in them). I want access to a cultural hub and be exposed to places, people and concepts I've never experienced before... I guess that's why I'm moving to Seattle.

  My husband has moved a lot with his father being in the military but I've lived in Florida my whole life and I've never done something like this before. I'm equal parts excited and nervous but I think writing about my experiences and new life in Seattle will help me and anyone else wanting to pick up and leave "just because".
